• A young woman with dark hair in a high ponytail, wearing a black crop top and red wide-leg pants, is standing on a dark floor against a plain white wall. She is striking a dynamic pose with one arm extended forward and the other near her face, making a peace sign, as if mimicking a martial arts move.

    Supporting & championing my communities

Using art and humanity as my guiding inspirations, I work in the non-profit sector and share my ideas with others to build a more interconnected world.

    Creation is my calling

Since choreographing my first piece for older adults at 14, choreography has been central to my self-expression, my ways of connecting, and my being.

    Movement is life.

Improvisation is central to my work as an artist, and bringing others’ visions to life brings me joy.

    Education and Experience

My academic background has greatly influenced my teaching styles, my interests and curiosities, and my desire for more knowledge.

I am in service of expression.

I stand upon building a more interconnected world as long as I live on this earth. As a Japanese American woman who lives intergenerationally and embodies intersectionality, it is my duty to bridge understanding between worlds.

As I continue to retrain myself somatically, I dream of globally redefining “humanity”, across all current spiritual, religious, physical, academic, and enforced divides.

As a movement artist, I live between the studio and street worlds in St. Louis. My choreographic and improvised performance work reflect these environments.
